Punta Gorda, FL (August 29, 2012) - Each month, Charlotte Regional Medical Center awards three employees and one volunteer for going above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that patients are the hospital’s number one priority. The hospital’s mission, “Caring professionals dedicated to serving our community” is something in which each employee takes pride and strives to uphold.
In August, Charlotte Regional gave out the following awards:
NURSE OF THE MONTH. Wanda Toby, RN in Education Department. Wanda is always upbeat and positive. She is well-liked by her colleagues and, as feedback states, much appreciated by our patients. Wanda talks to all of our patients as if she’s always known them.
OTHER CLINICAL EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH. Roxana Duren, Therapist at Riverside Behavioral Center. Roxana’s compassion is evident when working with her patients. She demonstrates the demeanor, skills, and insight of a seasoned professional. Roxana is always a team player and always willing to step up to assist patients and co-workers even if it means additional work for herself. She consistently makes patient care her #1 priority.
SUPPORT EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH. Charlie Chiappisi, Nutritional Services Department. Since 1990, Charlie has been one of the best employees food service has ever had. He’s always reliable, never misses a day, and is responsive to customer needs. Everyone in the hospital knows Charlie and what he represents: top-notch customer care and service.
VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH. Joyce Linn, Surgical Waiting Room. Joyce volunteers in the Surgical waiting room. She is a helpful self-starter - always willing, and even eager – to take on more work. She is a lifesaver!
